- In order to qualify for the 2011 bonus, each Eligible Professional (“EP”) must submit 25 electronic prescriptions during calendar year 2011.
- To avoid a Medicare Payment Adjustment Penalty for 2012, each EP must successfully prescribe and report 10 eRx by June 30, 2011 or submit a request for a hardship exemption. The hardship exemptions are new and relate only to the 2012 payment penalty. The deadline for filing a hardship exemption has just been extended to November 8th.
- Successfully prescribing and reporting 25 eRx during calendar year 2011 is the best way for an EP to avoid a Medicare Payment Adjustment Penalty for 2013.
